The world is defined by change and requires a new mindset. Ashoka envisions a world in which everyone is a ChangemakerXchange -- A world where all citizens are powerful and contribute to change in positive ways. Ashoka identifies and supports the world's leading social entrepreneurs, learns from the patterns in their innovations, and mobilises a global community that embraces these new frameworks to build an "everyone a changemaker world." Ashoka focuses on four strategic priorities to help people understand and adapt to a world of accelerating change, where everyone is called on to be a leader. Strategic Priority #1: Social Entrepreneurship - select world-class social entrepreneurs who are leading the way to an everyone-a-changemaker world. Strategic Priority #2: Empathy and Young Changemaking - lead a movement to transform how young people grow up so they have the power to lead, to contribute - to be in charge. Strategic Priority #3: Organising for Changemaking - live and work in our changemaker world requires breaking through silos, tearing down walls, and organising in fluid, open, teams of teams. I was working in a program called 'Family Livelihood Improvement Project' or in short 'FLIP'. FLIP is a new program in PSE to enhance the quality of living in the invulnerable family. We were enhancing quality of livelihood to the family by recruiting invulnerable families with strong commitment. As a group team, we were providing skills training such as sewing, cooking, and cleaning. With professional trainers in each area and with the help of employment unit, the parents are ensured to have a job base on their skills. There were also a business team who were analyzing and providing load, in partnership with one local bank, to support their small business. PSE is a local organization which is supporting more than 6,000 children. My role in FLIP program was to provide mental and emotional support to the family and to provide soft-skill training. I have been supporting and impacting more than 50 parents throughout the program. Show less
