Intern at LMS Engineering Services
-
Jul 2015 - Oct 2015
Siemens LMS addresses complex industry challenges by integrating unique simulation approaches and testing in the product development process. During this internship, I joined the engineering services team where I explored the application of a model predictive control algorithm on a driving robot in simulation. The latter actuates the gas, brake, clutch and gear shift stick of a car in order to follow a predefined velocity profile on a test bench. Hereby, greater repeatability and precision is ensured with respect to a human driver. This internship gave me the opportunity to apply cutting-edge research results on an industrial problem, while successfully integrating the team and the company. Main tasks: • Modelling of a vehicle in Matlab and LMS.Amesim • Application of hybrid MPC methods in order to track the velocity profile • Minimisation of the vehicle consumption • Validation and assessment of the model and control laws • Realisation of a report and presentations explaining clearly the proposed methods and the corresponding results.
