I conducted experiments on processing conditions, with the aim to optimise plasma deposition chamber conditions for depositing an external only coating i.e. with no ingress into the substrates. The results from these tests were organised and presented to the Shenzhen based P2i team. I also processed filtration media in P2i’s largest vacuum deposition machine to impart oil and water repellent properties via pulsed plasma deposition, and carried out contact angle measurements (CAMs) and tested as-deposited thin film thicknesses to demonstrate conformity of the coatings to customer specifications. These tasks all demanded a high attention to detail, clear communication and organisation skills and a rigorous scientific approach. Show less

Collaborated with a research group on a Green Chemistry Project. I designed and synthesised nano-composite photocatalyst materials via a sol-gel process. I was also involved in a project exploring Hydrogen Sensing - This included prototyping and developing the apparatus and calibrating its sensitivity. These projects required good organisational and presentation skills for effective communication within the research group, as well as time management so that work remained on target Collaborated with a research group on a Green Chemistry Project.
