  In the role of the Gambler’s Help Program Coordinator at the Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association, I have coordinated projects in partnership with GHS stakeholders to co-design gambling harm awareness raising campaigns, including conversations and events to increase understanding of and take action to prevent and reduce gambling related harm with the broader community. We aim to promote and provide alternatives to gambling that have positive economic, social and health outcomes. In this role I have planned and monitored project schedules, budgets, resources and communication. Utilising the harm minimisation and client-centred approach, I successfully build rapport with clients through individual therapeutic counselling. My role also involves providing education on high risk gambling behaviours, early warning signs and associated harms for gamblers and affected others. Furthermore, I conduct screenings and assessments to assess the risk of mental health issues, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, relationship distress, substance dependence and facilitate referrals to provide a wrap-around support for clients.
