We produced the first ever 3D microwave images of actual tumors, and applied the technology to diagnostics and tracking a tumor progression over the course of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Microwave imaging is low cost and utilizes non-ionizing radiations, making it a good candidate for therapy monitoring and personalized medicine. Electromagnetic detection of buried objects: Collaboration with CRREL (Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory) and SERDP (Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program) to develop sensors for the detection and classification of unexploded ordnance. Emphasis on physics based modeling and data analytics (classification, clustering, and decision making). Developed the first Kalman-filter based real time detection algorithm. Show less
