    • Volunteer
      • Nov 2022 - Nov 2022

I volunteered as a data collector to aid in a survey of the health of inhabitants of Asante Akyem Agogo in Ghana. The project was dubbed , “AN ASSESSMENT OF INJURY PREVALENCE AND MANAGEMENT IN RURAL COMMUNITIES OF THE ASANTE AKYIM NORTH MUNICIPALITY OF GHANA”. We collected data from people in the community with the help of the red cap app, had wonderful interactions with the inhabitants and advised them on various health issues . Members of the community with alarming health vitals like high Blood pressure , high random or fasting blood sugar and high BMI were advised and referred to nearby facilities where necessary. This project served simultaneously as a form of screening . Show less

    • Medical Intern
      • Sep 2021 - Oct 2021

This was an internship of one month duration which taught me a lot in the field of medicine and also surgery. I begun with basic nursing skills which I deemed very important to my medical career; from checking patient vitals to dusting the beds to prevent infection and even dispensing drugs. I also learnt how to dress various types of wounds and witnessed some debridement. I witnessed an amputation , breast lumpectomy and also an open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of an infant. I was glad to have had the opportunity to assist an indirect inguinal hernia repair. Show less
