Working with Tess is always an absolute pleasure. Her attention to detail throughout the whole production process: pre production, rehearsals and show, ensures that everything runs as smoothly as humanly possible. Her ability to keep a cool head under pressure and maintain a calming influence on all who she's working with is a rare and real asset. If you want your event to run right, I'd highly recommend Tess Townsend.

Tess is so much more than a showcaller. She's a calming influence on both client and crew and a great number 2 to have by your side - at any event. Tess and I have worked together for a few years now and as such we've had the opportunity to observe each other in a number of different environments and situations. On every occasion, Tess has been a godsend, extremely good at driving the client and crew through rehearsals, ensuring that all know what they're doing and then delivering seamless events. She is a great ambassador for anyone she is working with and a pleasure to have around.

Tess and I have worked together on many awards shows and live events where last minute changes and a high pressure agenda would make most people crumble, but not Tess. With meticulous pre-production and error-free show calling Tess is one of a kind. Every show has been a seamless production and Tess is a pleasure to work alongside. If you want the best, contact Tess.

    • Henry, A Tudor Musical
      • Jun 2014 - Mar 2019

An exciting new musical work about Henry VIII, his 6 wives, his fool and life in Tudor times written for community theatres, schools or large scale stage performances. Cast 16-40 with some excellent roles and strong solos as well as ample opportunity for choirs and ensembles to join the tudor throng. Henry, The show was premiered by The Barn Theatre, Molesey in 2014, followed up with a bigger cast when MMT staged the show at Cecil Hepworth Theatre in June 2018. Tony Carson and Tess Townsend, writers of “Henry” were delighted to collect the “Best New Show 2018’ award for the MMT Production at Guildford’s Electric Theatre in March. The creators, which also included talented composer/musician Alan Townsend, started writing the work song by song, scene by scene, not really knowing where it would lead and having no idea it would ever get up on its feet. To receive recognition for the show at this level is a dream come true. The writers are now looking for a professional company to produce the show at a higher level.Details from henry@studiob.co.uk

I managed a company of 55 actors and a variety of production crew, ensuring everyone was where they needed to be, whenever the Director, Wardrobe, etc called for them. I supported the fantastically talented Director, Ciaran McConville, and his DSM in doing their jobs and I hope I took some of the strain out of the day to day, giving them a chance to do what they do best, better.
