I want to express my top enthusiasm for Tessa R. Davis, M.S., a fantastic Senior Research Technologist II who worked for me in my laboratory at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, 2009-2016. If she had stayed with me instead of moving with her family’s other job to Austin, TX, she would have soon been promoted again. - very independent worker, but also works with outstanding efficacy in a team - very creative - extremely well organized - mathematically and quantitatively oriented (as expected of a Caltech graduate) - highly skilled in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, with a good amount of Immunology - wrote a 1st-author publication for me, and is middle author on multiple papers having provided a special enriching asset to many, perhaps all, of our lab projects - excellent trainer of students: undergrad, post-bac, doctoral; and postdocs, and bosses too - a very good FRIEND to all of us, her lab mates - goes the extra mile and places high value on QUALITY work In the spirit of citing possible negative qualities, which in actuality are superior qualities that I couldn’t live without: (1) she is cursed with the gift of knowing when people are slackers, and she suffers knowing she’ll have to do something about that, which she does, because she isn’t a person to compromise quality and productivity (but I’ve always known her to be nice about it); (2) she will speak her mind if you are about to turn the second key to launch the nukes on the submarine, or if you wonder if you should tell your favorite joke when you give that important talk. Thank goodness for it, because of the number of times she corrected my mistakes and saved me from disaster. If you want to really get things done and get them done right by working with a smart, creative, engaged, no-nonsense, high-level, caring, friendly person, then Tessa is who you want. If I were you I would make her the GOOD offer. In fact, that’s what I did, and she proved me right for doing so. **I would hire her back in a heartbeat if I had the chance. Please feel free to contact me if I can provide any more insight into Tessa and the high regard I have for her.
