  Leads a team of 4 top quality senior administrators. Received a cash performance award within the first 6 months for improvements in organizational management and employee morale. Acts as ambassador to other on-campus organizations, in order to improve security, standardization, and HIPAA compliance, while maintaining FERPA compliance. Reviews and remediates for HIPAA compliance, including working with Compliance personnel for the revision of policy.  Works within a recharge budgetary model. A significant portion of the budget comes from payments-for-service.  Acts as senior administrator for all enterprise systems, and technical backup for all other team members.  Directly and indirectly manages multiple enterprise supports systems, including SCCM, InCommon certificates, SCOM, Active Directory, Orchestrator, and PowerShell via secure WinRM.  Works in a highly virtualized environment (VMWare, ~95%).  Windows team, which I manage, is a peer and partner with the Unix team, as part of the greater Data Center Operations team. Improved centralized control of systems in a highly decentralized organizational model.    As Server Administration Team Lead (with 4 junior SysAdmins and 1 engineer), responsible for technical and interpersonal development of team members, OS Planning and Management, Patching (including ~3300 workstations and servers), Asset Management, Hardware Management, Commissioning, Decommissioning, Status Reporting, Active Directory Management, Group Policies, Planning, New Product Evaluation, Server Disaster Preparedness, LifeCycle Management, Documentation (including auditor and Sarbanes-Oxley responses), and Troubleshooting of all production and non-production servers, nationwide. (~600 servers)  Both led and directly performed work in these areas, as needed.  Tools used in this capacity: ADUC, GPMC, Dell OpenManage, Prism, PatchLink, Shavlik NetProtect, WMI Scripting, CLI Scripting, and others.  As a technical leader, guided and tasked a group of talented junior system administrators, distributed in three regional centers (Minneapolis, Akron, and Sacramento). These centers controlled assets in nearly every state.  Peers were: "Application Delivery Team Lead"; "Storage Team Lead"; "Messaging Team Lead"; "Networking Team Lead"; "Data Center Team Lead"  Was senior technical advisor to the National Security Manager.  Also administered via CheckPoint FW-1, IIS, and Websense, and any new technology that did not clearly belong to one of the other team leads, whose tasks were more specific.  Wrote a significant body of policy from scratch for Server Administration. Also wrote draft policy for other teams and management, as requested.  At the same time, maintained an Army National Guard commission as a Captain in the 115th RSG in Roseville.    Successfully completed a tour as the Brigade S6 (a position two grades above actual rank), the Brigade Commander's representative and primary planner in the combat zone (Northern Iraq) for all Communication and Computer issues.  Was in charge of multiple tactical systems, radio terminals of various types, ~70 computers (secure and non-secure), and the communications needs of the Headquarters and 3 subordinate units.  Directly led a small staff, and functionally led all subordinate S6 officers and soldiers through the implementation and enforcement of policy.  Was the primary technical and IT policy advisor to the Brigade Commander in a combat theater.  Managed Active Directory and Exchange 2003 (client-side) in a secure environment, in coordination with the Division J6 (Higher echelon).  Scripted multiple security and patch solutions.  Regularly briefed senior and very senior officers on IT, leadership, and communication functions.  As Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO), was responsible for the units' automation security within the MND-N secure and non-secure domains.  Supported users and Division G6 in the implementation and troubleshooting of CACs (Smart Cards).  Managed Windows File and Print services for all HQ users.  Now off active duty. Due to limited budget, had to "trick" Backoffice server to install on a Windows 2000 server.  In keeping with Kodata business priorities, constantly evaluated systems and procedures to save the company money.  Managed web server (IIS 5.0) used by the majority of auto dealerships, nationwide, to retrieve accounting records.  Worked regularly with senior customer contacts, identifying problems & developing solutions.  Supported staff with automation issues, & advised the Chief Information Officer on policy, to include the development of policy documents.
