  Academic Advisor-Promote Columbia College by contacting newly admitted students encouraging them to follow through and assisting them with the the admissions process to maintain and improve the conversion rate at the College. Provide sound academic advice to students based on school bulleting, and classes ne needed to complete their degree. Evaluate degree audits for accuracy, determine students’ status, maintain records, assist with appeals and waivers, and submit appropriate paperwork as needed and in a timely manner. Assist with campus retention and provide academic coaching in regards to the Standards of Academic Progress, probation, and suspension. Assist with New Student Orientation, Online Demonstrations, and Academic Success Workshops. Always assist where needed. Veteran’s Certifying Official- responsible for understanding and implementing Complex federal regulations, and responding in a timely, knowledgeable manner to assure institutional compliance. Verify student eligibility for VA education benefits. Evaluation of classes to determine degree applicability prior to reporting enrollment to VA. Utilize financial records for calculations of the net cost to ensure accurate payment is made to the VA. Serve as the primary conduit of information and support between the student and the VA. Counsel students on the use of State and Federal tuition assistance, and their responsibilities and requirements. Assist co-workers with their advising duties that involve military students.
