PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION GROUP- Develop a customer-focused relationship with transportation directors across the state and create transit planning data analyses to advance operations and increase efficiency- Interpret and organize various statewide level transit data into maps and/or reports to analyze operating statistics, performance metrics, and other characteristics deemed important by FTA and NCDOT staff- Manage large transit-related datasets to ensure that format is in compliance with NCDOT and FTA regulations- QA/QC yearly transit data reported to the National Transit Database- Work with transit directors on a yearly basis to collect, modify, and organize Transit Asset Management plans- Manage and coordinate North Carolina’s community transportation General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) program- Regularly work with 19 different transit system and the NC ferry system to collect and update GTFS data as needed- Provide GIS and transportation planning knowledge to state and federally funded research projectsOPERATIONS RESEARCH AND EDUCATION LAB- Actively conduct qualitative & quantitative research with 1 to 3 of NC’s school districts at one time to formulate Land Use Studies, student enrollment projections, and out-of-capacity worksheets- Act as a mediator between county/municipal planning officials and school district officials to enhance coordination, to promote smart growth, and to encourage organized development- Schedule, coordinate, and host meetings with municipal and county planning directors, utility directors, economic development directors, district engineers, and more- Collect, organize, and geolocate upwards of 80 residential developments from 2-8 offices within the study area- Present Land Use Study findings to Board of Educations and County Commissioners across the state and formatthese findings into an extensive report to be delivered to district staff
