Managed a fire protection program affecting 17 fire departments and over 1,000 military, foreign national, and U. S. civilian employees across Europe. Planned for fire prevention, suppression, and engineering programs. Negotiated labor agreements and participated in dispute resolution proceedings. Analyzed fire protection trends and problems and formulated corrective measures. Researched, evaluated, recommended, and coordinated on policy matters affecting fire and emergency services for the Department of Defense. Determined fire protection requirements for active Air Force installations and contingency locations. Developed the first strategic plan for fire protection in the command which led to the resolution of numerous long-standing problems. Deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and established two forward operating location fire departments, coordinated agreements with foreign governments and integrated operations with host nation organizations. Challenged with a variety of national consensus standards related to fire protection and emergency services, developed strategies to meet strict USAF and NATO requirements while ensuring cost savings for affected agencies.
