  I worked with Gosford City Council for 11 years and my key responsibilities are to liaise with management to plan, facilitate, implement, manage and evaluate the swim school and other leisure business ventures. This process requires leading a small number of professional teams across the unit to develop a strategic direction in regards to; Meeting community needs - Design, develop and implement a successful swim program at multiple facilities. Administration - Working to a budget, understanding and implementing fees, charges and payment conditions, establishing effective procedures to meet council policy. Staffing - Establish direction for a large group of people over multiple facilities. Leading the group through the development of a Learn to Swim program where they shared ownership and input. This process was strategic as the overall success of the program and business would rely heavily on the commitment and confidence of staff that felt their ownership in the program. Marketing & Promotion Understanding the target market, the reach, the strategy, exploring cost effective plans, and the most importantly, measuring the success. Utilising both print and online media to build a successful marketing and promotional strategy. Integrated Management Principles Conduct risk assessment, work with staff to develop a safe work procedure to ensure it meets with policy. Conduct and oversee regular IMS checklist, report and investigate if required. Professional learning Consistently build and maintain the highest standards for training and development of staff. Policy & Procedure To ensure operations within my scope comply to Council’s Policies and Procedures. I guess this sounds a little bit like "it's all me", but the truth in the matter is my manager is excellent to work for, the other supervisors are experts in their field, and the talented staff at both facilities is why we are kicking goals and it is such a pleasure going to work every day.
