  I am responsible for executing the day-to-day operations of the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program in the Rossier School of Education. I contribute to long-range planning, manage the student advisement team, provide staff development and supervision, and advise doctoral students as needed. The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program is one of the premier Ed.D. programs across the United States, preparing educational leaders in K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and non-profit organizations, and focusing on issues in urban education. The program has included cohorts in Los Angeles, Orange County, Hawaii, and Singapore. Some of my responsibilities in this role are to:• manage the student advising team, • plan and facilitate course delivery, coordinate course scheduling and course production processes, • provide faculty support, • serve as a key resource for program information, • analyze student enrollment and completion data,• manage budgets and tuition projections,• in tandem with the advisors, execute events including campus immersions, orientations, receptions, conferences, and commencement, • serve as an ex-officio member of the faculty governance, • contribute to the EdD curriculum and program revision committee, • lead communication efforts, including the development of a new student-centered website• coordinate student milestones including doctoral screenings, qualifying exams, and support students’ doctoral dissertation submissions.Title changed 2020 from Associate Director to Director due to position reclassification.

  In this role, I provided academic advising and program support for the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and the Ed.D. in Organizational Change and Leadership (online) programs in the Rossier School of Education. I monitored student performance and fulfillment of key milestones, intervened when necessary, offered guidance to ensure degree completion in a timely manner, and developed solutions for the diverse needs of graduate students in both online and in-person cohorts. I created and maintained student records in various technology platforms, analyzed student data, developed strategic plans to address concerns, and provided timely reports to stakeholders. In this role, I also designed, executed, and evaluated student events including orientation, receptions, conferences, and commencement programs.

  As the Director of Student Academic Services at Loyola University Chicago, I collaborated with many campus partners to develop solutions that help students succeed. We served over 16,000 students in seven colleges and schools. The position has been re-titled as Director of Learning Support and Academic Success. In this role, I focused on six key areas by providing oversight for four departments, coordinating retention initiatives, and providing leadership for the Loyola Experience. These departments included:- The Center for Tutoring and Academic Excellence;- Services for Students with Disabilities;- Military Veterans' Student Services (a new office created in August 2014); and- The Student Services Hub, which provides coordinated, student-focused services in a variety of functional areas (financial assistance, registration and records, course placement, etc.). In this role, I also provided day-to-day building management for the Sullivan Center for Student Services. In addition, I collaborated with a variety of campus partners regarding student persistence to graduation and managed retention initiatives such as academic alerts, non-enrolled student outreach, surveys, and other targeted intervention programs.I also co-chaired the implementation committee of the Loyola Experience: Four Year Guide to Student Transformation, a collaborative effort among the Divisions of Student Development and Academic Affairs to support student engagement in high impact activities and encourage degree attainment within four years.

  In 2012, I was promoted to this role on the leadership team of a large office, serving over 4500 first and second year students. In my role, I managed many of the advising functions within Academic Services and focused on the development of key departmental and institutional strategic initiatives. I supervised professional and graduate staff, coordinated the university's required first-year seminar (UNIV 101), and developed strategic solutions to improve academic advising services, including policy development and academic appeals.
