  Working in a family owned business presents many challenges and just as many benefits. Taking on the role of VP of Account Management for a company that manufactures customized student uniforms and skills packs put me in both new and unfamiliar territory. Having spent 10 years in the world of healthcare as the Marketing/Public Relations Director, I knew the culture and those that thrived in it. The garment side of the business was new to me. But as in all things people related, the root is the same: Know your customer, know your product and put the two together. As a follower of Christ, it all comes back to serving others... that I could do. When it became how can we help our customers: How can we take care of them and meet a need? How can we be the best at what we do, not for financial gain but for the benefit of others? The company continues to grow and we continue to learn and to change. We all work together using the current avenues of communication to pursue our customer and to learn from our customer.It would be easy to place the usual highlights here that most Linkedin accounts have but it just all seems to sound the same. I want today to be different.
