I managed all China suppliers’ payments including development and management of product costing within range. I was accountable for all shipping, the sourcing of fabrics and trims, ensuring stringent quality standards were met, optimal price negotiation and production manufacturing standards were achieved with overseas suppliers in Nanjing, Beijing, Qingdao and Hong Kong. Under my leadership I ensured the successful planning and production of 48,000 units per month. Before immigrating to Australia I sold my share in the company. Initially employed as the Factory Manager I became a business partner of this large clothing manufacturing company employing over 420 staff and supplying some of South Africa’s largest retailers – the Edgar Dale Group as well as independent stores and supplying corporate wear to the hotel and transport industries.
