  Over the summer of 2019, I worked as a Mandarin translator for international parents and students at Fairmont Private Schools. I was also a summer camp counselor for kids ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. As a translator, I had to hone in on my communication and people skills to ensure that the parents and kids knew what was going on, and convey the instructions of my superiors. As a counselor, I had to maintain order amongst the kids, account and watch out for them on field trips, lead them in activities, and resolve any disputes that arose among them. Show less

  At Boeing, I worked as a Phantom Works Intern where I was the project manager of a conceptual project chosen by me. I chose to design a ranged underwater stealth explosive (RUSE) that would have the capabilities of a torpedo, while also being able to travel the distance of an unmanned underwater vehicle. The project, typically eight weeks in length, was completed by me in four weeks and required me to come up with a proposal, design, research, capabilities, concept of operations, system diagram, system flow, design trade summary, competitive analysis, risk management and mitigations, opportunities assessment, make/buy chart, sourcing strategy, organization chart, schedule of production, development and production expenses, and a financial overview. As a whole, my internship allowed me to meet one on one with nearly 40 employees of all different backgrounds and while working a total of 221 hours over the eight weeks I was there. Show less
