  Currently, I'm a postgraduate student working towards a Dr. rer. med. in the research group "Motor skills and cognition" at the Charite - Universitätsmedizin in Berlin. I study sentence processing and sequencing in individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) using neurophysiological (EEG) and behavioral methods (reaction time and quantitative measurements).The aim of my project is to investigate the linguistic sequencing abilities in persons with PD compared to healthy controls, and to understand the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms. Therefore, I want to know, if and how persons with PD perceive temporal cues, like syntactical sentence breaks, and how their perception of these affects sentence comprehension. Furthermore, we want to find out whether perceptual deficits in the sequencing of linguistic information are related to the language production ability of these individuals. Show less
