Through the work we did for IVC, we got to understand who Teddy is and what he does and saw how he gives 100% to everything he does. In our work we were able to interact with many of Teddy's clients and members of his organization and they all agreed with what we came to learn which is that he always goes above and beyond and truly embodies the spirit of IVC. He's an incredible asset to IVC's partner agencies, he's dedicated to assisting them in their missions and succeeds at doing so. For the IVC volunteers he's a friendly, caring guide that helps them discover the best way for them give back and find purpose in their retirement years.

The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (“IVC”) is a national non-profit organization that seeks to better communities through matching men and women, age 50 and better, with meaningful opportunities to serve the needs of people who are poor and to grow deeper in their faith. Ignatian Volunteers commit to working eight to sixteen hours per week for a period of ten months. We partner with local Service Agencies directly serving the poor including: St. Francis Soup Kitchen, Friends of the Poor, Saint Joseph’s Center, the University of Scranton’s Leahy Clinic, the Women’s Resource Center and several additional service agencies. IVC’s communal and spiritual aspects set IVC apart from other volunteer opportunities. Transformation occurs for Ignatian Volunteers when they minister to the poor, and then take time to intentionally reflect on their ministry. Thus, IVC integrates a spiritual support program into a volunteer’s service including: retreats, monthly meetings, and one-on-one spiritual accompaniment.
