  Developed an SSIS package for automating the connection to a Secure FTP (SFTP) using WinSCP And WinZip software executed via process tasks and downloading Zip Files containing XML and JPG files that are processed and inserted into a SQL Server database staging area. There are various points of event logging and error handing using the event handlers of the different package tasks along with using SSIS package logging. Event and error log records are written to a logging table to track the progress of the package execution. Various precedence constraints and package variables are used for determining control flow. The XML Source adapter along with the Merge Join transformation is utilized to extract the XML data and transform it into usable data for writing to a database staging table. Package variables package configurations are used throughout the SSIS package to enable flexibility of moving between development, SIT, UAT and Production environments. This is basically the makings of an ETL framework that will be used for other XML ETL processing for the business. This ETL project work directly related to this mobile app on the Provest website (http://provest.com/technology/mobile-technology.aspx) Other duties have involved verifying and deploying SQL scripts and Stored Procedures in development, SIT, UAT and Production environments. Currently working on implementing a Data Warehouse.

  Automating SharePoint File Upload - SSIS package created to automate file distribution of 80 different department Excel Report files (over 2000 files/month) to a corporate SharePoint reports portal. Using C# scripting, SSIS ForEach Containers, filename pattern matching, database lookup and record logging this automation process saves 2 work days a month. SSIS/ETL/SSRS Cardiovascular Transcribing Tracking Data Warehouse and Reporting System– Production SSIS package created to daily populate SQL Server Data Warehouse with records from two Oracle 10 databases for 16 different hospitals. The SSIS pulled data from each Oracle database for each hospital (the SQL is unique for each hospital facility). The data was first staged and then after using some data transformations, new records loaded or existing updated in the production reporting system. Using BIDS (VS 2008) three reports and one chart was developed to display the data in Reports Manager. The reports utilized query parameters to filter the report data and also drill through to expand and collapse the grouping of the data. SSIS/SSRS Rehab Data Warehouse and Reporting System – Production SSIS package developed to replace manually created Excel reports for three Rehab Facilities. The monthly SSIS package reads in a data entry Excel file from three different facilities. An SSIS ForEach container is used to loop through a network folder to import the Excel data into staging tables and another SSIS package to load from staging into the Reporting database (data transformations are used). For the reporting, BIDS was used to create 4 reports. This main report had its properties changed so that when the report was exported to Excel, the subreports were transformed into individual Excel sheets. SSIS/ETL Excel Import template package – In mentoring one of the team members, I created a template package to read Excel files and selectively import specific worksheets based on a hit in a SQL Server table. ...
