Jacob Wayman, MBA MHSA

Ted is a self-less leader who always aspires to bring out the best in everyone he interacts with. Through our involvement in 1 Million Cups Wichita and the Entrepreneurship Task Force, I’ve witnessed first-hand the dedication Ted has for the entrepreneurial community and his ability to take action. Above all, Ted is talented, hard-working and a professional I would recommend anyone do business with.

My wife and I founded a non-profit in 2012 and had the privilege of partnering with Ghanaian social workers to create a rehabilitation center for child laborers in the fishing industry on Lake Volta. In 2013, eight girls were transferred into our custody and now live at The Yellow House, where they receive a quality education, enough food to feed an army, and two 2 full-time caregivers who provide a nurturing and protective home. Read about how the Eight Oaks girls are flourishing at 8oaks.org. Experience:-Created a formal organization and board of directors-Raised over $250,000 from donors-Hired 6 Ghanaian staff and continue to manage day-to-day activities-Developed relationships with government agencies and navigated complex cultural differences

I was hired in 2014 to manage the launch of the Metro E-Community pilot programs in Wichita and Lawrence Kansas. After both pilots launched successfully, my focus shifted to using technology to further the NetWork Kansas mission of empowering entrepreneurs across Kansas. One of my projects is finding creative ways to analyze our loan portfolio. Using Tableau, I've built a number of dashboards and visualizations that have provided our team with much deeper insight into our loan activity throughout the state. I've also created and deployed software for our Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge program. This software allows our partners to create local competitions, manage registrations and communicate with participants. It completely streamlines the process for hosting competitions which makes a tremendous difference, considering that most of the work is done by volunteers. In the 2016-2017 season, the YEC series hosted 22 local competitions with over 450 student participants. Involvement has grown every year and we plan to expand again this season.-E-Community Loan Dashboard https://goo.gl/NtXq8e-Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge portal https://goo.gl/2Ct3Mm-10 Years of E-Community Blog Post goo.gl/j1Cbg5
