I had the privilege of working under Ted Downs during my time at Roseburg Forest Products as a manufacturing process intern. As an intern, Ted served as my manager but quickly became a mentor as well. He has a vast amount of experience in the wood products industry. I enjoyed working for him since I had no prior knowledge of wood products and he created an environment for me where I was not intimidated to ask questions. Ted was a manager who wanted to see his interns grow thus he never micromanaged. He allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills as well as encouraged me to become a self starter.
