As the Competition Journey Manager for the East African leg of the initiative, I held a direct reporting line to the Development Financing Institutions (DFIs) that supported the competition. They included Proparco, CDC, FinDev Canada, The Graca Machel Trust as well as the Mastercard Foundation. In this crucial role, I ensured the alignment of strategy and execution with the project's objectives. Collaborating closely with tech companies, I co-designed the competition entry and communications process, optimising it for efficiency and effectiveness. Once the entries were closed, I assumed responsibility for the rigorous adjudication process, which involved carefully selecting and briefing esteemed judges and conducting thorough process audits. Additionally, as the primary point of contact for the project team, I played a pivotal role in organising the roadshows across East Africa and coordinating the grand final ceremony in Kigali, Rwanda.
