I've used this role to grow my skillset in a vast number of areas and have taken on opportunities along the way that are far-removed from my day-to-day simply for the thrill of learning and I'm truly grateful. Now my job description includes:-direct contact via phone and email with a client portfolio that has grown to over 40 clients-giving tax and compliance advice to clients-preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns, as well as VAT returns-preparing personal tax returns -running payroll and correcting any payroll related issues-reviewing the bookkeeping and management accounts prepared by bookkeepers-training and giving guidance to bookkeepers on an ongoing basis-constantly helping to improve processes and overall company efficiencyI have also volunteered to do the following in my time at Nimble:-I was a salesperson for a few months in 2019. During this time I did not stop my accounting role but rather took on both roles at once. I took on this additional role to challenge myself personally as I had found sales to be daunting and thought myself incapable previously. I was surprised by how much I learned in a short space of time and how much I enjoyed it. I left the role due to growing responsibilities in my accountancy job.-I have also volunteered every now and then (when time allows) to research and compile factsheets on various tax topics which have helped to grow my own depth of knowledge not just in the technical aspects of taxation but also in research. I've learned to not just collect facts but to organise it in a legible and easy to follow manner which any reader, accountant or not, can follow and learn from with ease.
