  As a Senior Project Manager, I am consulting for the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) as they prepare to move across the street into a brand new $224.6 million Clinic & Specialty Center. The new 377,000 square foot facility is set to open in March 2018. HCMC is a comprehensive academic medical center and public hospital with from world-class trauma services, specialty and primary care services. The new Clinic & Specialty Center will be located adjacent to the existing HCMC campus, which currently occupies five blocks. It will include primary care clinics, specialty clinics and outpatient surgery facilities. The project also includes two levels of underground parking with 260 parking stalls, and a skyway and tunnel connection to the existing hospital.

  The Mayo Innovation Scholars Program offers an opportunity for selected undergraduate students with academic background in any of the natural sciences, economics, management or media studies, mathematics, or with other relevant experience to evaluate projects submitted to the Mayo Clinic Ventures, the arm of Mayo responsible for evaluating potential business opportunities for discoveries and inventions created by Mayo Clinic physicians and researchers. This program is an initiative between a select group of Minnesota Private Colleges and the Mayo Clinic, with funding through the Medtronic Foundation.As a member of the 2010 Mayo Scholars Innovation program, my responsibilities included the following: • Assessed the market feasibility of a medical product invented by a Mayo Clinic Physician • Researched competing technologies, potential market size, and performed a SWOT analysis • Worked and communicated effectively with a team of three other students and two advisors • Exhibited our recommendation to Mayo and MN Private College representatives
