      Within this position, I work under the direction of Dr. Wansheng Liu in his genomic research lab. My duties include independently Extracting DNA from live tissue (mouse tail), spinning samples down in a centrifuge, and running samples through a nano-drop machine to manage the concentration of DNA in each sample. I am then responsible for created multiple sample conditions using different RNA primers, as well as positive and negative control groups. Next, I am in charge of running the samples under two different PCR conditions as well as setting up and running the samples through gel electrophoresis, and capturing pictures of and analyzing results of gel sample under UV light.
