Experience

    • Certified Nursing Assistant
      • Apr 2020 - Present

Lakeview is a neurobehavioral specialty hospital. As a CNA some of my daily tasks include bathing, oral care, toileting, maintaining personal hygiene, assisting in therapy, and assisting with feeding. Making sure each patient's needs are taken care of is my top priority. This job requires patience and communication with the entire team staff including nurses, doctors, therapists, case management workers, and security. Lakeview is a neurobehavioral specialty hospital. As a CNA, one of the most important tasks is assisting residents with activities of daily living. Some of the tasks include preparing and serving meals, planning exercises, and activities for the residence, and promoting safety. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and promoting health and wellbeing are just some of the skills required for this job. Charting detailed notes about each resident is also a way to keep updated records and give report during shift change. As a professional patient, I had to learn a script of someone with a disease and had to act out that disease to a PA student. This opportunity taught me responsibility because I had to memorize a page long script in less than a month. I had to learn a new name, birthday and a list of symptoms and complications that were wrong with me. I had to stay in character as PA students tried to diagnose me.
