Verify designs and drawings made by the team for utility and manufacturability. Manufacture and build the car with a variety of methods including CNC machining, 3D printing, carbon fiber layups, and waterjet. Use a variety of CAD, CAM, and simulations packages to create a great car. These include Fusion 360, Solidworks, and Ansys. I also check manufactured parts and verify the dimensions are accurate to the design and do failure analysis when a component fails.

    • Suspension designer
      • Aug 2020 - Jan 2023

Design parts for the suspension of our racecar using Solidworks, Excell, and MATLAB. I optimized parts and assemblies, calculate forces at different elements to minimize weight while maximizing stiffness, and assembled systems to put on the car.

    • Mechanical Design Engineer Co-op
      • Jun 2022 - Dec 2022

Participated in a Co-op with the mechanical engineering team at Butterfly Network, a medical device company that makes a point of care ultrasound probe. I worked on a variety of projects and was introduced to many different machine elements and manufacturing techniques. My roll ended up being about 60% design work 30% manufacturing & prototyping, and 10% day to day operations and meetings. Due to an organizational restructuring I became the primary individual setting up the company's new machine shop at the newly opened headquarters. This required me to purchase from many vendors and use an enormous variety of tools. I chose the layout for the shop and organized the hardware, hand tools, machine tooling, and large equipment. I also worked cross functionally with the design team, failure analysis, the product team, and other hardware systems on fixtures, assemblies, and manufacturing concepts to help other teams progress. Worked with the engineering team to complete a business transition of Crystal Tip Adaptors that included updating drawings for 57 components in 23 assemblies using solidworks. Used a variety of measurement techniques to ensure parts were up to spec including a comparator, a height gauge, a St. Mary’s gauge, and thread gauges. Wrote Macros in VBA and soldiworks to improve workflow and in production part inspections.
