I worked as a summer intern on CALPIRG's New Voters Project campaign. During these 6 weeks I attended intern trainings and political discussions as well as worked on campaign strategy, assisted in building a campus-wide coalition committed to registering voters, and directly called and emailed students in order to register them to vote in the upcoming elections. Coordinated the efforts of a small committee in the development department to plan, create, and execute a large fundraising event in May (called Taste of the Lower East Side). My responsibilities included greeting customers, keeping track of restaurant layout, reservations, and levels of availability in order to seat customers, as well as cleaning, occasional serving, opening and closing tasks, handling money, and general maintenance and upkeep during busy dinner shifts.
