Bio
Janet Kawada
I have hired Taylor Hansen to do the lighting for my work at the Kingston Gallery, an artist run art space in the South End of Boston. He consistently makes the work "shine" by designing the best lighting to showcase the art work. This stems from his ability to consider all aspects of the show.

We support diversity through the visual and performing arts events that we present. Because we are a multi-use art center, we make our space available to artists and groups who may not otherwise have access to a professionally equipped and accessible facility or the cultural mainstream. Event Safety Planner

Most theaters are run by those trained as actors, directors or arts-administrators. Even many trained in theater production are too often concentrated on the show’s specific needs and that project’s timetable. By looking at the entire project with an eye towards safety at every level- of the venue, the crew’s implementation, the performers and the audience- these issues become part of the normal workflow without being disruptive, the appropriate agencies can be contacted and brought in as partners, and allow time to plan for any concern they express. Consultations combine information from the venue, show design and seating, along with city services: fire, safety and inspectional services, to create an emergency plan for a variety of issues including: severe weather, fire/evacuation, medical emergency, and disruptive patrons. The production, stage and house crews are then trained as to their roles in the general plan, and contingencies for specific issues. I also offer services liaising with fire departments and safety services on behalf of producers and presenters- for example in obtaining permits to use open flame or smoke effects in performances. Your audience comes to the event to enjoy themselves. Part of creating that experience is doing everything we can to keep them, as well as the artists and crew creating the magic, safe and secure.
