Jan 2023 - Present
As a Domestic Violence Victim/Sexual Assault Advocate, I provide direct advocacy and support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. I work with assigned survivors to determine their service plans, answer/respond to the 24-hour Hotline, and provide a full range of advocacy services based on their individual needs. I gather statistical information and enter it into the company database, attend and participate in staff meetings, and ensure adherence to confidentiality standards. Additionally, facilitate or co-facilitate support groups. I also help clients access other services in the community as applicable and communicate/intervene with individuals, entities, and organizations on behalf of the client as requested or needed. I actively collaborate with community partners to ensure comprehensive and holistic services are available while maintaining professional relationships and adhering to mandatory reporting laws and company policies and procedures. I continuously participate in trainings and conferences to maintain and enhance my skills in serving survivors of sexual assault. Additionally, I maintain appropriate professional and ethical boundaries and standards in my work. Show less

In my previous role as a youth facilitator at YouthCity, I was responsible for teaching in an out-of-school-time setting, implementing program activities, and ensuring the well-being of program participants. With my experience in working with school-aged children and a diverse population, I successfully created a non-judgmental atmosphere and resolved conflict situations. I demonstrated strong communication skills, effectively engaging with individuals from different social and ethnic backgrounds. I actively participated in program planning, including developing weekly activities based on learning objectives, teaching group activities to youth, and maintaining attendance records. I contributed to the overall success of the organization by consistently exceeding organizational goals and objectives and providing a safe and healthy environment for program participants. Show less
