  I am currently employed as an Access to HE Health care Lecturer. My background is health and social care and I have worked in different health care settings in various capacities in the following; children’s homes, care of the elderly, mental health of both young and elderly, hospital care and learning disabilities of both young people and the elderly. My areas of core competency include embedding essential skills such as numeracy, literacy and ICT in my lesson presentation, an approach that respects differentiation as learners have got different learning needs, good Socratic questioning skills to establish prior knowledge from learners and assess whether learning would have taken place, an innovative approach towards planning lessons, classroom management and continuous personal professional development to enhance my teaching capabilities. Other duties of importance that I engage in as a teacher include; networking with other professionals, designing schemes of learning, lesson planning, marking and designing SMART learning outcomes, as well as providing pastoral care to students in my capacity as a personal tutor.
