      As an advocate of Diversity & Inclusion and a member of the Raytheon Missile Systems Executive Diversity Council, I’m the founder of the RiseUP Leadership Program, created in 2017. The program’s foundation is to champion ERG members. It’s a leadership program that increases opportunities for all ranks/levels of employees whom RiseUP to today's business challenges; filter out untapped talent to be placed into specific Talent Pools across all functions, currently focused on our need to fulfill the Program Management pipeline. The candidates invest their own personal time into developing their skills in Program Management (web-based and instructor led courses) and are immersed into 8 months of EQ and Team Building training, mentorship, experiential learning opportunities and extensive network growth up to executive business leaders.This has resulted in a 100% (62 graduates) graduation rate in 2017 and 93% (107 graduates) graduation rate. Candidates receive the Raytheon internal Program Management certification and/or Earned Value Management/Cost Account Management Certification along with their RiseUP Leadership Program Certification when they graduate. The graduation event is sponsored by Corporate and Raytheon Missile Systems business unit Executive Sponsors. In the first year, over 1,100 employees from Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) showed interest in being honored as a cohort member, increasing annually.In our first year, we created a committee of leaders within program management to review all applicant resumes, bios, and essays as to why we should invest in them. We conducted interviews and down selected to 62 candidates across the United States. In 2019, we selected 117 candidates.This program has been proven a success and has been recognized as a Best Practice at the Corporate level.
