Currently working at IPP Group (International Piping Products) manufacturing pipe fittings and parts for various national and international industries to include; energy, oil & gas, nuclear etc. Whilst working at IPP, I have undertaken a verity of tasks within the workshop. My main job description covers manufacturing fittings, however, I have been assigned to other arrears of the workshop to include, grinding, pressing, forming and calibration (of fittings for reproduction). While studying the HNC in Manufacturing Engineering, I volunteered as an Engineering Technician at Derby College My role expanded from general Health & Safety aspects, through to maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. Other duties included assisting lecturers and co-workers, attend team meetings to influence new ideas for improvements etc I gained many skills from planning to production, troubleshooting to repairing and processing. I gained the knowledge and practical skills of calibration of measuring equipment, fabricating, welding and maintenance techniques.
