Tarik is a highly professional hands-on Team Lead, who leads the AI team with passion, vision and competence in Python, Data Science and AI. He is very knowledgeable in converting real world challenges into mathematical models and is quick on his feet when it comes to apply the right tools and techniques to the right challenges and finding the metrics to evaluate approaches to find the best fits, which he backs up with data proof and intuitive visualizations. One of the skills I appreciate most is his precise and informative communication skill, which makes all discussions with him very informative and valuable. When he listens, he listens thoughtfully, asking excellent questions which open new ways to think about a problem, and possible pathways to new solutions. Recommend working with him if you have a chance or need some advice about how to approach complex modelling and optimization issues, especially but not limited to the energy markets.

      - Development of both deterministic and stochastic optimization models for energy systems (plants, storages...). Implementation of an optimization framework for energy economics models based on Pyomo. Extension of the existing heuristics for thermal assets optimization. - Analysis and development of an automated bidding tool for control reserve markets - Development of machine-learning models for energy forecast: energy consumption and generation forecasts including solar plant output, power/gas/heat consumption, smart meter profile analysis and clustering. - Development of hedging strategies and pricing methods for electricity contracts. - Automation of various energy-economics processes by means of self-developed software tools (mostly Python/Matlab). - Central member of the Wien Energe data science community, participation and organization to numerous hackathons.
