Bio
Avery Konda, MBA
Tareyn was incredible intuitive, and become one of my closest mentors during my inception, and scaling of Growing Georgian. With her expertise we were able to create an NGO that gave opportunity, recognition, and prowess to the Indigenous community. I highly recommend Tareyn for any career she pursues in the future.
Bruce Meyer
Tareyn is an outstanding, creative, and enterprising individual who demonstrated excellence in all the classes she took with me. I am now proud to say that she is part of Georgian College. Accomplished, brilliant, quick-minded, thoughtful, and focussed, she has established herself as a thoughtful leader and instructor. I am proud to have played but a small part in her educational development.

Indigenization is the process of infusing Indigenous worldview and knowledge into curriculum, wise practices, services, and education. I developed a 3-year Indigenization Plan for Georgian College that has been integrated into the Official Strategic Plan 2016-2021. I specialize in using creativity to integrate Indigenous knowledge and experiential learning into programs to ensure that the content is intelligible and applicable to the students’ future professions. I create Professional Development Sessions for faculty and staff to ensure they are informed and supported throughout Indigenization. Physical enhancements are essential to the process, as is open dialogue to ensure a cooperative and supportive environment. I also develop Indigenous programming and work as a faculty member to share my growing knowledge of Anishnaabemowin grammar and preservation. Show less
