Dr Eng., Tarek received his Ph.D. from the Institute Polytechnic of Grenoble , France in 1992 and then spent two years at the IMR, Tohuku University, Sendai–Japan. He has held academic positions at the University of Monastir, and Umm Al-Qura University, CEIA Kingdom SA. He received a habilitation degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Monastir in 2004.
