I led discussion groups and provided guidance to students, and aided with the problem solving of assignments, lab experiments, and reports. I led field excursions and provided insight into the geological history of the Ottawa region. I had the opportunity to closely work with students with different backgrounds and various professors, which helped me immensely improve my communication, interpersonal skills, decision making, and time management skills. The courses that I was responsible for include:EVS1101 – Introduction to Environmental ScienceGEO1115 – Introduction to Earth MaterialsEVS3120 – Environmental Microbiology

Characterization of porewater in argillaceous sediments by micro-vacuum-distillation: I worked under the supervision of Dr. Ian Clark to investigate the isotopic behavior of water recovered from drill cores originating from clay-rich formations by micro-vacuum distillation. I worked closely with laboratory technicians which helped me improve my communication and technical skills as well as my ability to analyse data and write scientific reports. Moreover, the hands-on experience gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge on the behavior of isotopes under different conditions.
