    • The Interprofessional Practice Placement (IPP) completed at Wantirna Health
      • Aug 2019 - Oct 2019

This project was a part of my fourth year clinical placement at Wantirna Health. It was focused on a clinical placement model that allowed students of various health disciplines an opportunity to participate in an interprofessional, student led, clinical placement for a week. The various disciplines were Medical Students, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Nursing, Pharmacy and Occupational Therapy. The week involved demonstrating invidivudal clincal roles within the GEM setting; including completing information gathering, assessments, intervention and discharge planning. It highlighted the use of teamwork, communication, organisation, respect and many other qualities that assists in other health professions being able to understand each others roles within this setting. This was a highlight of my fourth year placement as it allowed me to demonstrate my knowledge and skills to other health professions, as well as understanding how other disciplines engage with clients.
