Hosted an educational workshop called 'Pollution Investigators' for schools visiting Robert Gordon University which hosts a Science and technology festival called Techfest. Our workshop engaged children from p4-p7 with foundational concepts around Eutrophication and Environmental protection. The demonstrators taught and instructed the classes through basic chemistry 'experiments'. Such 'experiments' included Nitrates, Ammonia and pH testing in various samples. Each sample represented example sites along a fictional river, each with varying values giving clues to which site is the culprit for environmental harm in the river. Each class would then discuss reasons as to why each site may have different values, and concluded with a conversation around what we may do as individuals to help reduce pollution and what to look out for in our local water sources.
