Tara possesses the aptitude and skills to exceed in any position she holds, but what makes her stand out among her peers is her genuine and empathetic nature. I had the pleasure of working with Tara at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and she was not only a detail-oriented and competent emergency planner, she also brought a humanistic touch to her work. She exhibited wisdom beyond her years through her humility, patience, and emotional intelligence. In team settings and in her community engagement work, she sought to create inclusive environments by being a good listener and acknowledging the importance of each individual’s contribution and expertise. I am confident that she has the technical and interpersonal skills to excel in any position.

I am very proud to know Tara. We originally met through various emergency management projects when she worked for the SF Department of Public Health and more recently we had a shared experience through our mutual aid deployment to site of California's deadliest forest fire in Paradise, CA. As I returned from the deployment within a few days of her deployment, I briefed her on the situation and I could tell she wanted to get there as soon as possible and help as many people as she could. Upon her return and decompression, we spoke about our shared experiences and we, like everyone else who deployed had the same thought - while there is no way to really prepare to see total destruction and interact with people who've lost everything, we realize that we deploy to help those people bring their life back together and start the return to normalcy. Tara has a huge heart and I know with every band aid she applied, evaluation she made and person she saw that she did with with a huge smile and a sympathetic ear. She's an amazing person and a even more amazing medical professional.
