Math practices are primary and the standards are the vehicle in which we teach them. Love my job and still think it's an honor to be called a teacher. Data drives instruction. Over the past 12 years my focus in teaching has shifted toward getting students to think deeply, critique the reasoning of others, validate their thinking, use self-assessment as a tool to spearhead student reflection and their ability to define where they are in the learning process.
