Central to this particular role was business consultancy, new business development, account management and travel sales, for the UK domestic market. My ability to provide expert strategic support from this managerial position meant I was responsible for delivering new and exciting deals to the leading e-commerce platform; as well as crafting and curating bespoke, tailor-made experiences. I worked in the UK Travel cluster, selling to a database of more than 56million captive consumers. This involved sourcing trending products, new destinations & quality hotels; creating and fostering good supplier relations and continually re-packaging, re-purposing and re-negotiating travel deals & prices. Right the way through — as one of the newest team members — I proudly achieved the highest in gross revenue and also hit call KPIs consistently, whilst ranking #1 across all regions and the entire business.

Specialising in travel and consumer PR, my year spent as an Account Manager at PRM allowed me to prepare, create and execute effective communications strategies for a range of clients. Some of the accounts I worked on include five-star hotels, tourism boards as well as individual government ministries in foreign countries. Specifically, the Seychelles, Greece and Saudi Arabia. The essence of my work, was to spark conversation and help all top tier UK media produce impactful, accessible, compelling articles. Effectively, this was done by me bridging gaps between millions of travellers and new emerging markets - all whilst ensuring excellent marketing results and strengthening personal media relations. Additionally, I was responsible for producing PR materials such as press releases, newsletters, emails, reports, proposals and budgets. I independently organised press trips and media missions and I got behind generating social media coverage and managing the accounts of PRM as well as its sister company, NEEDaFIXER.

VP is a luxury online travel agency and the worlds leading subscription-only travel site. My job, for the 1.5 years I was employed, was ever evolving and moved beyond just creating relevant travel content for the UK website. With a team of buyers, data loaders and marketing executives, I was able to work at the front and back end of the website in order to create exclusive and high-end travel deals, each one carefully hand-selected by the team. The copy writing element of the role meant that I was responsible for writing up product descriptions and adding colour to each of the travel packages. I also - for a time - had involvement with the company’s social media pages and newsletter, where I would feature examples of the kind of world-class resorts, hotels and destinations Voyage Privé offer. My experience at the internet-driven/ French company was invaluable overall - and I came away from it having strengthened my digital marketing, advertising and international relations skills.

This was a three month overseas programme carrying out international citizen service and helping with development projects, natural resource management and working to tackle issues of poverty, water and sanitation. As someone who enjoys international affairs, it was a fantastic opportunity to work in a rural Nicaraguan community (Las Cruces) to help provide sustainable, safe and easy access to improved water sources as well as helping to reduce social and gender inequalities through social enterprise. My day-to-day role included working alongside project partner CEPS as well as two of the local water committees in my community. I conducted baseline surveys across more than every nine houses of 270 in my community in order to identify their needs. From there I worked to educating them on health, hygiene and sanitation issue; done through various action days on personal hygiene and waste management. I met with the local women's group and took part in a weekly youth group. My job also involved building water systems and launching other self aid projects designed to be long lasting and ultimately life changing. Additionally, I was elected as the blog champion for my group (Charlie 9). I was in charge of writing, commissioning, managing all of the text and multimedia content going up on the charity's official blog. A condition to joining the programme is to fundraise. I exceeded my target of £800 and underwent various challenges including: 'Living Below the Poverty Line' on £1 a day for a week, as well as selling my own photography and promoting my cause on social media to attract donations. Now home, I am to complete an independently led action at home project designed to spread awareness and to motivation and inspire other young people to become active citizens. I am currently in the process of writing up some political, environmental and citizen related articles and plan to exhibit some of my best digital works.

I launched EducateUs as a new Social media campaign for making political education compulsory in all schools across the UK. The very short campaign was a university project and made to run alongside the 2015 elections. Although brief, it was very successful and it caught the eye of many professionals including top investigative journalist: Ian Cobain and politicians: Adam Jogee (Labour CLP, Hornsey & Wood Green), Amy Gray (Conservative candidate for Hackney North & Stoke Newington) as well as more.. I exceed the target I set for this charity and underwent a nine day hitch hike from London to Zagreb in order to raise money and awareness about the charity. One of the things I am dedicated to and hold a real passion for is working to improve the quality of education given to children. The work I did with fund raising for Link Community Development worked towards doing exactly that for children in sub-Saharan Africa. My hitch hiking challenge covered 900 miles and involved passing through seven different countries.
