I serve as the Lead Archivist tasked with processing approximately four decades' worth of personal papers and archival records belonging to Dr. Steven B. Nasatir, the former CEO of the Jewish United Fund, a major humanitarian organization. Identify recurring formats within the records and rehouse the materials. Determine the description and arrangement priorities for various files. Organize the materials into series and subseries, as well as develop strategic labels and indexes. Formulate appropriate archival descriptions, along with creating an inventory comprising access tools and metadata. Generate metadata templates to enable the seamless migration of data fields from Excel cells into Laserfiche Content Management System. Show less

Project Archivist, The Richard H. Driehaus Museum

Oversaw the processing of an archival collection covering a meticulous five-year restoration project of an 1883 Gilded Age mansion. Reviewed materials to identify fragile items within the archive and determined their causes for degradation. Isolated vulnerable materials from the main archive and engaged in strategic planning for solutions to stabilize all materials at risk. Formulated unique identifiers and file naming conventions for all digital objects. Performed data migration of digital files for preservation. ~ Successfully stored approximately 28 linear feet of historical materials, inclusive of digitized items, hybrid content, photographs, textiles, traditional analogue materials, as well as samples of decorative mixed media. ~ Rescued significant amounts of endangered data through efficient migration and normalization processes. Digital Curation Intern

Processed data into inventory at item-level, while preserving and maintaining accurate information and archival descriptions. Evaluated the data integrity of media and stored objects on the university network server for long-term preservation. Established unique identifiers and utilized Excel spreadsheets to record the relevant information pertaining to cataloguing, organization, as well as the processing of objects. Devised standardized procedures for the management of incoming acquisitions, as well as developed step-by-step workflows to ensure consistency within handling and storage. Spearheaded the revision and enhancement of the digital content accessioning procedures conducted by the Special Collections Department, in promotion of their optimized preservation. ~ Performed the processing of new acquisitions, as well as backlogged digital and hybrid items for 13 collection areas, comprising approximately 900 linear feet of data. ~ Rescued degrading, endangered, decades-old archival objects (visual media) stored on roughly 300 optical media discs. Evaluated and measured relevancy of cultural material to be used for public, historical, and academic research. Digitized items for electronic management, long-term preservation, and future, ongoing access. ~ Transcribed 500+ newspaper articles from 1800’s into electronic form; took digitized snippets of articles focused on specific topic area (artisans) and saved images as. JPEGs and transcribed into form to provide better access as easy-to-read repository. ~ Researched digitized census records for same artisan project to create specific target list for acquisitions for collections department.
