First of all, Tara is one of the most honest people with whom I have worked. She is what I call "quick" smart, i.e., her mind processes information quickly. This along with a phenomenal memory, and excellent attention to details produces the skill set required to achieve success in modern business/manufacturing/engineering/quality. I would recommend her in either of these areas. She is very customer focused, but at the same time can ask the tough questions in such a way to drive to root cause solutions without upsetting her customer. This leads to correct solutions and results. She is an excellent papermaker and also well-versed in six sigma methods. In her last role, she was managing 3 different jobs, while executing all well. To reiterate, I highly recommend her for any role. Phillip Kelly

Mill Manager, Twin Rivers Paper Company, Pickens, MS ▪ May 2019 – Mar 2020 As assistant mill manager, and then mill manager, lead a 47 employee, single machine mill to profitability producing primarily food wrap grades. • Implemented group lockouts, weekly safety meetings to catch up training, brought confined space practices to industry standards. • Installed new home-built screening to reduce fiber loss to the river. Cross connected primary and secondary DAFs for additional fiber recovery. Installed thio-sulfate system to control chlorine residuals. Implemented environmental system checks each shift. • Reduced customer claims from $53/ton to less than $1/ton primarily through changing the quality culture in the mill. • Product development work resulting in expanding grade mix and minimizing production of low return grades. • Displaced expensive hardwood pulp with low cost pre-consumer waste material across 73% of our grade-mix resulting in savings of over $120/ton. Eliminated need for Eucalyptus pulps. • Implemented interview process for permanent move-ups in our non-union environment. • Improved FM Global rating by getting approval for a new sprinkler system over the yankee dryer, moving flammable chemicals out of the main product warehouse, tracking boiler system maintenance, and working with the city to improve fire water availability. • Re-organization of maintenance department resulting in implementation of planned outages, work request system, in-house vibration analysis, alignments, outsourcing of key electrical activities, and development of inventory tracking for critical equipment spares. Reduced total downtime from 18% to 4%. Show less
