This position, funded by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Chronic Disease Risk Reduction (CDRR) grant, includes working on local and state tobacco control initiatives with particular focus on the development, implementation, and enforcement of tobacco policies to protect at-risk populations and reduce tobacco use. Tara works with the Tobacco Free Wichita Coalition on many programs, including developing comprehensive policies for multi-unit housing, college campuses, and worksites, as well as assisting the City of Wichita in developing policy to help regulate sales of tobacco at local retail establishments.
