Tara’s ability to craft compelling packaging design is quite formidable. Even when there’s an unwieldy number of visual elements to organize, her designs still look elegant. Tara’s standards are high and her attention to detail is second to none. Finished versions of products I’ve seen Tara craft designs for are the kind objects you want to reach out and hold in your hands. In the consumer packaging design arena, what’s a higher accomplishment? Tara and I have worked on several projects together in a couple different capacities. When we were on the same creative/marketing team, I always had confidence she’d come through with clean, attractive designs that were on-target for the product or campaign. Now, in her much-deserved role as Creative Director for a national consumer brand, I’ve seen her showcase that talent on a whole other level.

Tara is a self starter, high performer and excellent executer. Working with her for over 6 years in her role as a graphic designer, I found that she consistently met deadlines and managed multifaceted projects to achieve concrete results above and beyond expectations. A conceptual thinker, Tara is a creative problem-solver with clear expertise in graphic design, including a good balance of practicality and creativity. Her attention to detail makes her an asset to any firm that is fortunate enough to work with her.

I am currently working as a freelance art director, bringing my 8 years of experience at L'Oréal USA to new projects. My longterm expertise in print and exhibition/display work gives me the ability to quickly step in and execute complex assignments, while at the same time I am expanding my skills in web and email-based communications. While working with the Arab-American Family Support Center, I discovered a passion for assisting immigrant women to achieve economic empowerment through entrepreneurship. This is still a medium-term goal of mine; I would love to help tap into the wealth of talent and potential in the immigrant communities of NYC. I am always receptive to potential opportunities in this area. I worked with a group of beginning English students, women from Morocco and Yemen. Some had never set foot in a classroom before. I loved working with them, seeing their English skills and their confidence progress, and getting to know them as people. I continued to teach them even after the ESL program adjourned due to lack of funding, until the facility we were using closed down. I still keep in touch with most of them and have been greatly privileged to have these women as friends. I worked with a group of beginning English students, women from Morocco and Yemen.
