WhatsOnStage is the UK's largest theatre website and TheaterMania is the NYC sibling site. Managing their social platforms (2M+ followers), I create and curate content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok by liaising with the editorial and marketing teams as well as PRs and talent. I often translate this into articles or live digital events e.g. live interviews, announcements and panels. Responsibilities include: breaking news across platforms (and the atlantic!), video and photo editing, paid ads, making content accessible, creating graphics, growing brand identity, analysing data, on the ground reporting at events including the WhatsOnStage Awards, Olivier Awards and Tony Awards. Each platform has improved engagement and reach. In 4 months I grew two TikTok accounts from scratch to over 1.5M likes and 35k followers.

Cheeky Little Matinee is a friendly blog that celebrates the arts, home, lifestyle and pop culture. I have built and maintain the website and its associated social media as the blog features thoughtful reviews of shows I've enjoyed, hints and tips as I decorate and renovate my first home on a budget, and discuss health and lifestyle. www.cheekylittlematinee.com Cheeky Little Matinee is a friendly blog that celebrates the arts, home, lifestyle and pop culture. • Sep 2021 - Mar 2022

I led public health campaigns for my local council (during a pandemic!) by working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high impact guidelines to help protect local residents from start to end of life. To do this I adopted a candid social tone, had an i-van roam the streets, took pop-up health clinics to waste centres and engaged with faith leaders and translators. Responsibilities included: planning and implementing external and internal communications campaigns focused on behaviour change, writing and distributing press releases, managing media requests, working within budgets, managing microsites, delivering strategic digital campaigns, briefing design work, ordering materials, developing relationships with partners. I am most proud of my work on mental health and suicide prevention where I redesigned and implemented the website, and launched the Get The Ball Rolling campaign encouraging healthy conversations between men at sports grounds.

      • Apr 2019 - Sep 2021

I was the first Theatre and Variety Specialist to work within music licensing - as the account manager of over 300 high profile and value licence holders. Responsibilities included: using Salesforce to invoice for royalties, arranging and attending site visits, answering queries over telephone and email, advising appropriate tariffs for performances, clearing rights for theatrical use, building relationships with licence holders, publishers and PPL and PRS members.I developed two processes for dramatic rights and variety applications and generated over £1 million in new revenue. I consistently hit my monthly targets and am told I still hold company records for exemplary customer service and invoicing volumes. In addition, I took extra responsibility to assist with forecasting and quality assurance checks as part of the Leadership Academy.

    • Live Music Adviser
      • Oct 2017 - Apr 2019

Working with live music venues across the UK, I conducted reviews to ensure that events and venues are licensed for public performance. This involved auditing my portfolio accounts by researching events and analysing data provided before accurately issuing licence documents to a timely fashion to ensure PRS and PPL members received their royalties. Administrative duties included logging events, chasing payment, and monitoring the live space.During my time in the position I became a Quality Assurance VIP for exemplary customer service and was the highest performer in the team in terms of licence quantity and value.

Since being awarded as UK Music's Outstanding Music Graduate in 2019, I have collaborated with them and specifically the Music Academic Partnership regularly. This involves sitting on panels, mentoring students and representing UK Music at events. As part of this, I created a virtual collective based on Instagram. Since the Covid-19 restrictions forced us to stop attending universities as we usually would, I created an Instagram profile that connects industry professionals with students and alumni for advice, tips and discussion. The platform provides access to UK Music professionals, and exclusive events held by them and their members. To manage this I arranged interviews with industry professionals and made their observations into bitesize social media content. I used Canva to design these graphics.

With the mantra of doing it for the story, I prided myself on original and personal pieces that could not be found anywhere else. This involved hopping onto tour buses, helping bands with loading in at gigs and travelling the country to document landmark shows. As Music Editor at tmrw magazine I combined exclusive images - from photo shoots that I helped organise and orchestrate - with in-depth copy. With a team of writers, photographers and designers from around the world, I managed them to ensure a steady flow of high-quality content by working with PRs, managers and record labels. I was responsible for editing and publishing the work on our CMS. I developed several series and features including "a day with" and was our lead interviewer - securing covers with Little Mix, Niall Horan and Shawn Mendes to name a few.

After recognising that there is no standard way of ID being checked in independent venues at live music events, I started the social enterprise, BAND ON!. The campaign aimed to deter underage drinking and to support grassroots venues. As campaign manager, I was able to implement the campaign in two different venues and launch with Independent Venue Week as a partner. I also gained support and funding from Citizen Card and BSeen, as well as a sponsorship supplier. The project demonstrated creative problem solving by strategically recognising an improvement in process. I confidently represented myself and the idea online and in meetings by pitching the enterprise and finalised my findings and research in an industry report This earned me the Birmingham City University “Most Entrepreneurial Student” award and highest degree mark for the project.
