      This is where I really defined my professional skills. My husband and I opened right before the recession in 2008. I quickly learned I had to pull myself out of the fun part of the business. (Mingling, bartending, etc..) Now my focus was on how I could make more money without spending more money. I'm not an accountant, but I had to buckle down and figure out why I was not making money. After many agonizing hours I taught myself how to cost every item on my menu to maximize my profits. This was very complicated and time consuming. The light bulb came on!
