Anouska Plasmeijer
Few people have the opportunity to report to an executive who is also a coach and mentor, which is exactly what Tanya was to me when I just joined the Jane Goodall Institute Belgium. She patiently provided me with a more then solid handover for me to grow in my new role, while also mentoring me on managing the organization on a day-to-day basis together with our volunteers while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Tanya’s long-term vision for the organization to grow in a sustainable way provided us with the solid foundation we now enjoy and which makes it possible to move on without her, although I’m glad she’s still just a phone call away to provide her expertise. Established in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania in 1991, this grassroots program has grown to encompass 750.000 members in over 50 countries.The Global R&S Committee strives to nurture, generate and support ideas and their implementation in developing compassionate leaders to make the world a better place. For the past two years I have been co-chair to this volunteer based committee of the Institute providing leadership, strategic planing and guidance for the R&S movement worldwide. Show less
